Main Street Music Stroll

We’ve been deprived for many months but we’ve finally found a safe way to present live music to the community. Main Street Music Stroll is a weekly event on Thursdays from 7-8 pm. Our first Main Street Music Stroll was July 30, 2020, and we have plans to continue until the cold keeps us inside.

During the stroll, artists perform music at predetermined locations around the Old Town Hall. This helps limit crowds and distance patrons.

To help navigate your stroll, we have signs placed near each artist as well as a map on social media to show the location of the performances. If you have any concerns regarding physical limitations, we will have a performer in the Old Town Hall parking lot. Feel free to bring a chair.

Please read our protocol before attending so you know what to expect from yourself and others. We ask that you respect the public space so we can continue to put on live music for our community and provide a platform for all of our talented artists.

FAQ for the Old Town Hall

🎶Why is the stroll only an hour?🎶

The purpose of the stroll is to enjoy live music without gathering. With only an hour, it promotes constant movement and limited gathering.

🎶Why don’t you post where specific artists are playing?🎶

We want to keep you guessing (and moving!) and we often have last minute shuffles/ additions. When possible, we will tease you with a lineup, however!

🎶Why are you encouraging people to wear a mask?🎶

Although the stroll is outside, we want to keep our community as safe as possible. To promote safety for everyone, we ask that stroll attendees wear a mask, especially when distancing may be a challenge.

🎶How do I make the best of my hour during the stroll?🎶

We recommend that you arrive at any point on the stroll for 7 pm and stay for one song at each stop, then move to the next artist.

🎶How may I contribute financially?🎶

Strolling is free, however, artists and the Old Town Hall will have tip jars & e-transfer details at stops.

🎶May I bring a chair?🎶

Yes, but we ask that you only place your chair at the Old Town Hall, as there is enough space there to distance.

🎶Where should I park?🎶

Free street parking exists along the side streets off of Main Street as well as a large lot at the Waterford Arena (32 Church St E).

🎶Will there always be the same musicians every week?🎶

Although we feature repeat artists, each week has a different lineup.

🎶What do I do if I have mobility issues?🎶

If mobility is a concern for you, we suggest you bring a chair to the Old Town Hall parking lot. We have lots of room to spread out!

🎶Is the art gallery open?🎶

Yes, the gallery is open for you to enjoy, but foot traffic will be limited.

🎶How long will this event last?🎶

As long as audiences stay respectful, we hope to continue the music stroll into the fall. In the case of rain, the stroll will move to the following evening.

🎶 I live on or near Main Street, and would love to offer up my lawn OR I would like to be involved as a musician!🎶

Cool beans! Please email intern@oldtownhall.org, and we will see if we can accommodate you!
