Local singer-songwriter Ian Bell has a newly minted band, and wants YOU to be in it! The Bunkhouse Band will make its debut Saturday, July 21 at 7:30 PM in the historic Old Town Hall Theatre. The public are invited to join Ian & some of the area’s best singers and players for what is sure to be a joyous neighbourhood night of singing and strumming.

“Hundreds of Norfolk County residents joined us last year for a Canada 150 singalong on the Old Town Hall lawn, and it was such fun, we decided to do it all over again… this time around an ersatz campfire in the comfort of the acoustically divine, wheelchair accessible, air conditioned upper hall,” says Ian. “All are welcome to join in song, or just come to listen. We encourage folks to bring instruments if they wish, and even a favourite song to share with the group.”

The plan is to collectively belt out some folk standards, old-time singalong numbers, and sea chanteys, and just see where the musical evening leads. “There’s so much music and heart in this community,” says Claire Senko, Old Town Hall Program Director, “I’m pretty sure we’ll make the most joyful noise this town’s ever heard. And yes, I’m gonna be there!”

All are welcome to attend. This event is family friendly, and admission is Pay What You Can, with all proceeds going to Town Hall Kids children’s arts programming. For more information, call 519-443-0113.

The Old Town Hall is located at 76 Main St. S., and the building is wheelchair accessible from the Auty Street elevator entrance.
